Main Street Ready · for local shops, restaurants, salons, contractors, and small offices

Small business cybersecurity, without the big-company price tag

Main Street Ready puts the protections big companies rely on into your shop or office, using affordable tools you may already pay for. It's one project at a fixed price, with no monthly contract.

Who it's for

  • Local shops, restaurants, salons, contractors, and small offices across the Jackson metro
  • Owners who can't justify a full-time IT company or a monthly managed services contract
  • Teams of 1 to 25 people where the owner is also the IT department

The problem

Why this matters

Small businesses get the same fake emails, ransomware, and payment scams as big companies. The difference is that big companies have an IT department, and you have a to-do list.

You don't need enterprise gear or an expensive contract to be well protected. You need the basics set up properly, using tools you can afford and may already pay for.

What you get

  • A second lock on your email and other key accounts
  • Antivirus that watches for break-ins on every work computer
  • A copy of your files you can actually get back, tested so you know it works
  • Guest Wi-Fi and your card reader kept away from your business files
  • A password manager set up for your team, and a written summary of everything I set up

How it works

From first coffee to follow-up

  1. Free consultation

20 to 30 minutes by phone, video, or over coffee. Tell me the problem, and I'll include a quick 10-point check of your basics.

  2. One-page proposal

The outcome, the price, and a start date. Small fixes get an hourly estimate instead. No long contract.

  3. The work

I work around your schedule and finish with a written summary you can keep.

  4. 30-day follow-up

A check-in a month later to make sure everything is still working for you.

Timeline

Most projects take 2 to 4 weeks. Your proposal sets the start date, and I schedule the work around your busy times. If the project grows, we'll agree on a new timeline before going further.

Price

Fixed price, quoted after your free consultation. After the consultation, you get a one-page proposal with the outcome, the price, and a start date.

Is this managed IT?

No. Main Street Ready is a single project at a fixed price. When it's done, it's done. If you'd like ongoing help afterward, ask about the Monthly Retainer.

Will I need to buy new equipment?

Often not. The work starts with what you already own and pay for. If something does need replacing, your proposal lists it with options and prices before anything is bought.

We take card payments. Does this help?

Part of the work keeps your card reader and register off the Wi-Fi your customers use, so a problem on one network doesn't reach the other. Your payment processor sets its own security requirements, and I can walk through those with you.

What if something breaks later?

Send a message and you'll hear back by the next weekday evening. ByteSize doesn't offer 24/7 or emergency support, and everything I set up is documented in your written summary.
